February 14th: The Airbus Beluga XL landed for the first time in the UK at Hawarden airport in north Wales. The aircraft is designed to carry 30% more than the current fleet of Beluga craft.

May 19th: Also on the European Parliament election campaign, Tommy Robinson (aka Stephen Yaxley-Lennon) held a rally in Bootle. Counter-demonstrators attempted to block the arrival of vehicles for the rally.
June 2nd: Following their Champions League win over Tottenham, Liverpool FC parade the Champions League trophy on an open top bus through the city.
June 22nd: Protestors from climate change group, Extinction Rebellion held a ‘die-in’ protest at the Anglican Cathedral underneath Gaia, a 23ft replica of Earth art installation.
